A typical day in gym class would start out with running, skipping, or galloping 3-5 laps around the gym. Some days
we may jump
rope or do other exercises.
Next we would line up and find out what activities we will be doing for the day. If you are in the lower grades we usually
do
3 activities per period. Older students will do one activity for the entire class period.
The K-5 students have a 30 minute class period and the 6-8 students have 40 minute periods. Sixth grade, seventh grade,
and eighth graders have a gym locker and are expected to dress in appropriate clothing for the class.
Time is provided to shower for seventh and eighth graders.
*A new climbing wall was purchased by the PTO and installed on one of our
gym walls. It is 40 feet long and 10 feet high. It is always supervised and we trust it will help build upper body strength.
All of our students love to use it.
